- Drink a big glass of water prior to eating - to fill you up
- Take a sip of water between every bite to slow you down
- Put down your fork between mouthfuls
- Offer people your food - tell them how good it is, they will therefore think you have eaten some, and are enjoying yourself and not dying inside
- Always leave at least one bite on your plate, to stop you binging
- Have a methodical method of eating - chewing a certain number of times, cutting food to a certain size, ect. which will ensure you don't lose track of how much you've eaten
- Talk a lot to distract people from your intake. Again, act like you are enjoying yourself so they don't see how hard this is for you
- If possible, look up the menu of the restaurant prior to going, this way you can find the lowest calorie item, and not worry so much about how much you're consuming
- Don't distract yourself from the food as you eat - make sure you keep track of what you eat
- Exercise as soon as possible after
